Dis-Ability
An evening with Roland Walter

Tuesday 12 November, 7pm
Cashmere Presbyterian Church, 2 Macmillan Ave, Christchurch (Rata Lounge)
Koha entry. Supper provided. No need to register.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to meet Roland and hear his story.

Roland Walter is a German model, photographer, performer and writer with one special feature: he is spastically paralysed. In contrary to his illness he doesn’t allow this to impede him in any way. By expressing his thoughts through art, dance and assisted speech he shares his message with the world:
"Nothing is impossible. No matter who you are, life is a gift which should be embraced."
Roland has a powerful Gospel message and a unique style in facing challenges.

A magnificent creation, by Roland Walter
(translated from German)

People call me impeded,
and they are right, that’s what I am.
God calls me his magnificent creation –
and HE is right, that’s what I am.

People call my life expensive,
and they are right, that’s what it is.
God says, my life is precious –
and HE is right, that’s what it is.

People call me unproductive,
and they are right, that’s what I am.
God says, I’m building bridges
between handicapped and non-handicapped persons –
and HE is right, that’s what I do.

People call my outward appearance repulsive,
and they are right, that’s what it is.
God says, my smile is beautiful –
and HE is right, that’s what it is.
