God Next Door: Neighbourhood Hospitality with Simon Carey-Holt

From August 21, 2019 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm

How can Hospitality help guide churches and our city at large as we respond to the March terror attacks on two mosques here in Christchurch?

"Hospitality in the Face of Terror" is a series of Wednesday night conversations on this question, co-hosted by Te Raranga and Oxford Terrace Baptist Church. We'll hear stories, reflections and insights from a range of guest speakers either responding on the ground or thinking and writing from afar.

For our fourth and final discussion, we welcome Dr Simon Carey-Holt, Australian Christian author and Senior Minister of Collins St Baptist Church in Melbourne. He's passionate about hospitality as a spiritual and missional practice, having published books titled "Eating Heaven: Spirituality at the Table" and "God Next Door: Spirituality & Mission in the Neighbourhood". He'll bring his insights and experiences from an Australian context to us here in Christchurch, helping us to see God at work outside the walls of our churches, in the streets and homes of our neighbourhoods.
