Sheltered: Exploring the Antidote for Fear and Anxiety

From August 21, 2020 7:00 pm until August 22, 2020 5:15 pm

For many, fear and anxiety are regular companions in life. For some of us a specific fear linked to a particularly memory grips our heart. For others, anxiety lies in a deeper part of our being, having been embedded in our hearts at an early age. We attempt to deal with these situations ourselves, trying to cope by controlling our lives (and the lives of others) to avoid the discomfort of fear.

In this course we explore the nature, causes and impact of fear and anxiety. Our main focus however, is highlighting God’s desire to show us the freedom that is available in Him when we fully trust Him with our worries. Then we can live in the safety and security of who God truly is - our strong shelter, our safe tower, the anchor for our hearts, the One who will never leave or forsake us.

I had not put my trust in God so always felt fear and anxiety. The Lord gave me a picture: Jesus in the boat sleeping in the storm while I was jumping overboard into a lifeboat trying to sort things out. I should have stayed in the boat listening to God. Instead trying to sort things out myself.  The Lord said to rest in Him and see Him perform.
